Radio

Radio is a common form of entertainment and news-gathering in Appalachia, and, like television, it was an important tool to alert the people about the impending tornadoes in March.

There are four area FM and three AM radio stations that broadcast to Kermit:

WKQR 92.7 FM WXCC 96.5 FM WVOW-FM and WVOW (101.9 FM and 1290 AM) WHQX 107.7 FM WHJC 1360 AM WBTH 1400 AM

These stations broadcast country music, sports games, radio talk and news stories.
